The Newport News Public Art Foundation is dedicated to helping make Newport News an appealing place to live, work, visit and do business by placing monumental-scale works of art by respected sculptors throughout the city, where people can enjoy art as they go about their daily lives. The Foundation also works to encourage and help the public enjoy, appreciate and engage with the sculpture around them, through outreach and education programs.
The Newport News Public Art Foundation is building a freely accessible collection of diverse, contemporary, permanent public art by internationally renowned artists. Currently the collection consists of 23 works of public art sited in parks, green spaces, streetscapes, and thoroughfares.
Enjoy activities and guidance to engage with and appreciate the art around you. For caregivers looking for kid-friendly activities, those wanting more detail about the sculptures and their creators, and for teachers looking to engage classes in activities and information about the art in their community.
